A new technology of recovery platinum from spent Pt-V/C catalyst, in which platinum and vanadium are difficult to separate and purify, due to similar chemical properties, was studied. Three technical conditions of hydrochloric acid concentration, temperature and the quantity of ammonium chloride for the separation of platinum and vanadium were emphatically studied. The optimal process conditions are: hydrochloric acid concentration is 3.0 mol/L, the mass ratio of ammonium chloride to platinum is 4~5, and treating at room tempreture. Under these conditions effective precipitation separation of platinum can be achieved. The purity more than 99.95% of platinum was obtained by purification, and the recovery rate of platinum was higher than 99.5%. |
