Advances in chemical analysis of Pt, Pd, Rh and Ru in catalysts supported on carbon have been introduced. The chemical analysis involves the pre-treatment method of samples and the measurements. The conventional wet-digestion or fire-digestion can be selected to remove carbon from the catalysts. After Pt, Pd, Rh and Ru are completely transferred into the aqueous solution, the content of Pt, Pd, Rh and Ru in the solution will be determined by the well-established inductive coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The pre-treatment process and determination conditions reported in literatures were summarized, and future developments were also given. |
