Surface mechanical attrition treatment (SMAT) was used as a surface severe plastic deformation method for the treating of Ag-Cu eutectic alloy. Microhardness and TEM were conducted to investigate the structure evolution after SMAT. The results showed that a gradient structured Ag-Cu eutectic alloy was obtained via SMAT. The deformation layer was ~100 mm and the grain size in the top-surface was ~10 nm. In the same time, the grain refinement mechanism was also discussed. |
